Seascapes and Landscapes in Black and White (monochrome)
A collection of British landscape Images in monochrome. The collection features mainly the landscapes of Scotland. Stripping away colour back to the black and white allows the viewer to concentrate on the composition and appreciate the beauty of this landscape. Black and white photography often conveys a timeless quality. In my images, I also sometimes use subtle tones (such as sepia, copper, or cyan) to add a particular mood. All images look great on canvas or as a framed fine art print. For outdoor use go with an acrylic print.

Northumberland
The County of Northumberland is the most northerly county in England and is situated in the North East of the country facing the North Sea and has more land per head of population than anywhere else in the country. Stretching from the River Tweed in the north almost to the River Tyne in the south it has many wonderfully sandy beaches. The west of the county borders the Cheviot Hills and this area contains the Northumberland National Park. Historically the county is the birthplace of Christianity in England via the Holy Island of Lindisfarne and its proximity to ancient Scotland ensured that it can also boast many medieval castles and fortresses . A wonderful place to live and work in, it is also a very popular tourist destination because of the beaches and unspoilt landscape..

Randolphs Leap
Randolph's Leap is an SSSI and area of countryside in Moray, Scotland. The area surrounds the River Findhorn and is actually named after the point at the river where the sheer rock banks are closest, where according to legend Thomas Randolph, later Earl of Moray, was pursuing a Comyn, who leaped to the other side and escaped back to his castle. The Comyn castle fell and the lands were granted by King Robert to Randolph. The name gradually changed from Comyn's Leap to Randolph's Leap. This part of the Findhorn is renowned for its dramatic rocks, cliffs and waterfalls, and peaceful surrounding pine forest.

Sunrise and Sunset around the UK
A collection of sunrise and sunset images from England and Scotland in the UK. Morecambe is on my doorstep, and renowned for its sunsets and I include many images from around Morecambe Bay, including views across the Bay to the hills of the Lake District. The sunrises can be as stunning as the sunsets, and the early morning departures of small fishing boats provide some unique and spectacular scenes. As sunsets develop the colours can change rapidly from gold to orange to red and then on to purples and blues. Capturing these moments in time while creating an interesting image is always a challenge. Cambridgeshire was my home for many years, and some of my images available here were featured in the National Media.

Hopeman
Hopeman (Scots: Houpmin, Scottish Gaelic: Hudaman) is a seaside village in Moray, Scotland, it is situated on the coast of the Moray Firth, founded in 1805 to house and re-employ people displaced during the Highland clearances. The name of the original village was “The Haudment.” Later to be known to locals as ‘Houdmin’ or ‘Houdman’ , then ‘Houpman’ /'Houpmin' The village was founded at the beginning of the nineteenth century as a fishing port by William Young of Inverugie. It expanded when the new harbour was built in 1838 for the export of stone from the nearby quarries. During the summer the village organises a hugely popular gala which runs for a whole week. Activities range from traditional sandcastle competitions through to rock concerts, fancy dress parades, Songs of Praise and an Arts and Craft Fete. Hopeman has two large sandy beaches split by the man-made harbour. The West Beach is the smaller. The East Beach is surrounded by large, grassy sand dunes, and has colourful beach huts and large rocky areas with excellent rockpools (the one at the eastern edge is known as Daisy Rock). Further to the east is a smaller hidden beach with stones and large rock formations.
