Monochrome Magic When I started taking pictures with my first “proper camera”, everything was on 35mm film and all black and white which I developed myself. I’ve never lost the love I have for black and white in spite of the depth and range of colours and tones that can be achieved with colour and manipulation tools like Lightroom and Photoshop. But I don’t miss the process of developing old films one bit!

Digital Fine Art
What on Earth is Digital Fine Art? Lockdown meant that venturing out with a camera had to wait for safer times. So, I picked up an online Digital Fine Art course as I was intrigued how some example images seemed transformed into oil or watercolour paintings. The textures I created are images of simple things like cloth, brickwork, wood, or stone then manipulated in Photoshop to provide, on the face of it, a random image but blended over some of my own images, the effect really stands out. Some of my original photographs with textured layers to appear as digital fine art. Styles include watercolour, oil, crackle glaze
A trip to the coast
I love watching the changeable weather, the more dramatic the better as Mother Nature sweeps the canvas and palette clean in the blink of an eye. Surround by the flat green fields of Oxfordshire, I live at perhaps one of the furthest points away from the coast anywhere in England. The draw of the sea is always difficult to resist, so I'm particularly fond of Dorset’s Jurassic coast with its dramatic colours and cliff tops, as I am of Weston-Super-Mare and Brean for the sheer expanse of beach and the stunning sunsets sweeping across the Bristol Channel
Oxford's Dreaming Spires
A collection of shots in and around my hometown The usual touristy pictures of Oxford seem to concentrate on the sandstone buildings. Striking as they are, don’t forget the effort to splash colour on the shops of High Street seen from above in “Rainbows and Rafters”, which provides a lovely colourful contrast.
