Wells next the Sea Norfolk Collection
This is Wells next the Sea in Norfolk. It is a beautiful and historic seaside resort and port which has been a safe haven for sailors for 600 years and was once one of the great ports of eastern England in Tudor times. The port is sheltered by salt marshes and pinewoods which stretch between Holkham and Salthouse. Also known for it's colourful beach huts and beautiful sandy beach. The harbour has many pontoons and moorings for recreational sailors and a crab and lobster fishing fleet. Access to the sea for boats is via the East Fleet where you will see the lifeboat station , the Beacon and the sculpture Lifeboat Horse by artist Rachael Long which marks the work of horses used to tow the lifeboat out to sea in the 19th century. A very popular destination throughout the seasons. My home page is fully searchable for anything more specific. Thanks for looking.
