Monochrome Landscapes and Seascapes (Black and White)
A collection of British landscape Images in monochrome. The collection mainly features the landscapes of Scotland. Stripping away colour back to the black and white allows the viewer to concentrate on the composition and appreciate the beauty of this landscape. Black and white photography often conveys a timeless quality. In my images, I also sometimes use subtle tones (such as sepia, copper, or cyan) to add a particular mood. All images look great on canvas or as a framed fine art print. For outdoor use go with an acrylic print.
Black And White
Black and white photography allows us to see line and shape in compositions more easily. Removing colour can help focus more on the story and emotion within the image that the photographer wants to show us. Some of the photos in this collection are developed as true black and white, some with very slight tints, but there are a couple that are as shown here as they were originally - naturally monochrome with just a hint of colour. Can you spot them?
An abundance of Poppies
Poppies mean so much to so many people. They never fail to evoke emotion whether it be sombre reflection for remembering Britain's fallen heroes or simply a vibrant and cheerful symbol of warm summer days. Photographers were everywhere a few years back when a large field between the Peak District villages of Baslow and Bakewell suddenly turned red overnight! I am very fortunate to live just a short distance away so took full advantage of the opportunity to capture these glorious flowers - in the days when we were allowed to travel for pleasure!
