Whitby in Yorkshire.
Whitby is a place of magic, a seaside town overlooking the North Sea, the ruined Gothic Whitby Abbey was Bram Stoker’s inspiration for “Dracula”. Nearby is the Church of St. Mary, reached by 199 steps where Dracula in the form of a dog came ashore. Whitby is at its most mysterious at night is easy for imagination to run wild with Gothic fantasies. I came here as a child at five years old not been returning regularly ever since trying to capture its mysteries on camera at night.
Digital Watercolours
This digital watercolours collection is a continuation of the creative process from going out and taking an image with the camera to processing the image on a computer, in my case a Mac, to transforming the finished image into a digital watercolour using Photoshop. For me it's as much about the creative process as it is the end result. I hope you enjoy my landscapes and seascapes as watercolours.

Photography is a creative discipline and with technology available today a simple image can be transformed into many pleasing and emotive works that please the eye and the mind. A touch of colour, a little texture, swapping a colour, placing something that really could not be there, tell a story?.
IMPRESSIONISM OF MY THOUGHTS WITH A CAMERA
My idea of impressionism with a camera, trying to create atmosphere and emotion, usually with intentional camera movement during a long exposure on a tripod. Then post capture editing often with additional images that I have taken added in different layers.
