Nash Point
A collection of beautiful pictures from Nash Point in the Vale of Glamorgan, south Wales. Nash Point (Welsh: Trwyn yr As) is a large bedrock beach full of wonderful fossils and rock pools, stunning rugged cliffs and rock formations. The lighthouse at Nash Point is an iconic 19th century, grade 2 listed, historic building. It is also well for the Sphinx look alike headland.
Barmouth
Beautiful Barmouth... where the mountains meet the sea. The town is on the west coast of Wales and lies on the estuary of the Afon Mawddach and looks out onto Cardigan Bay, in the southern part of Snowdonia. Its bridge is Grade II* listed and is the longest timber viaduct in Wales and one of the oldest in regular use in Britain.
Canterbury Cathedral
Canterbury Cathedral is the oldest English cathedral. It is in Kent and is World Heritage Listed. Of particular note are the stunning stained glass (lead-light) windows. Founded in 597, the cathedral was completely rebuilt between 1070 and 1077. The east end was greatly enlarged at the beginning of the 12th century and largely rebuilt in the Gothic style following a fire in 1174, with significant eastward extensions to accommodate the flow of pilgrims visiting the shrine of Thomas Becket, the archbishop who was murdered in the cathedral in 1170.
Saltburn by-the-sea
Saltburn-by-the-Sea is a seaside town in Redcar and Cleveland, North Yorkshire, England, around 26 miles south-east of Hartlepool. Saltburn Pier is the last remaining pier in Yorkshire. Designed by John Anderson and owned by Redcar and Cleveland Council, the 681ft long pier opened in 1869. It is also familiar for the cliff lift which links it to the edge of the town. Reopened as a Grade II*-listed building in 2001, it was awarded the title of 'Pier of the Year' eight years later by the National Piers Society.
Chawton & Jane Austen
Chawton is a village in East Hampshire England. The village lies within the South Downs National Park and is famous as the home of the author Jane Austen for the last eight years of her life. Her house which is now a museum Jane left the house for the last time in May 1817 to take lodgings near her physician in Winchester.She died only a few months later on the 18 July and was buried in Winchester Cathedral. 2017 was the bicentenary of her death. Her Her Mother and Sister,both named Cassandra are buried in the Graveyard of nearby St Nicholas Church. Chawton House is a grade ll listed Elizabethan manor house and was formerly the home of Jane Austen's brother, Edward Austen Knight, it is now a library and study centre.
